2+1 Sit On Waste Tank 4800 Ltr: High Capacity Waste Management for Site Sanitation
The 2+1 Sit On Waste Tank is a heavy duty steel waste containment unit designed to work in conjunction with our 2+1 Steel Toilet, providing a complete sanitation system for sites without mains drainage connection. With a massive 4,800 liter capacity, this tank significantly extends the interval between emptying services, reducing operational costs and logistics for sites where waste removal access is limited or expensive to schedule frequently.
The toilet unit sits directly on top of the tank (hence “sit on”), creating an integrated system that requires no external plumbing connections between the toilet and waste containment. Gravity does the work, and the sealed steel tank contains all waste securely until a scheduled emptying service arrives. Two 150mm corner emptying points with secure covers provide easy, controlled access for tanker hose connections during waste removal.
Why a Sit On Tank
Many site toilet installations require connection to mains drainage, which may not exist on remote sites, temporary locations, or early stage construction projects where drainage infrastructure has not yet been installed. A sit on waste tank eliminates the need for any drainage connection. The toilet is placed on top of the tank, waste flows directly downward into the sealed container, and a tanker service empties it at scheduled intervals. This makes the system completely self contained and deployable anywhere a level surface can be prepared, regardless of whether drainage is available.
Key Features
- 4,800 liter capacity: A large volume that extends the time between emptying services, reducing ongoing costs and scheduling requirements.
- Heavy duty steel construction: Internal framework and supports provide structural rigidity, while 2mm thick steel cladding resists corrosion and physical damage.
- Black primer finish: A protective coating that guards against rust and weather exposure while providing a clean, professional appearance.
- Two 150mm emptying points: Corner mounted with secure covers, providing easy connection for tanker hoses during waste removal services.
- Designed for 2+1 Steel Toilet: Purpose built to support and integrate with our 2+1 toilet unit for a complete, self contained sanitation system.
- Sealed containment: All waste is fully contained within the steel tank with no ground contact, leakage, or environmental contamination.

How the System Works
- Installation: Place the waste tank on a level surface. Position the 2+1 Steel Toilet on top of the tank. Connect to water and electrical supply for the toilet unit.
- Operation: Waste from the toilet flows directly into the sealed tank below by gravity. No pumps, no external plumbing, no drainage connection required.
- Emptying: When the tank approaches capacity, a tanker service connects to one of the two 150mm emptying points and pumps out the contents. The secure covers are replaced and the system continues operating.
- Frequency: With 4,800 liters of capacity, emptying intervals depend on usage levels but can typically extend to several weeks on moderate traffic sites.
Construction Details
- Internal framework: Steel structural members inside the tank provide rigidity and support for the weight of the toilet unit above.
- 2mm steel cladding: Thick steel plate on all surfaces resists puncture, corrosion, and the pressures of contained liquid waste.
- Sealed joints: All seams and connections are sealed to prevent any leakage of contents into the surrounding environment.
- Low profile design: At just 630mm high, the tank adds minimal elevation to the toilet unit while still providing substantial storage volume.
Ideal Applications
- Construction sites without mains drainage
- Remote and rural work locations
- Early stage developments before drainage is installed
- Event and festival sanitation systems
- Agricultural sites and farm locations
- Temporary installations of any duration
- Sites with restricted waste removal access
- Emergency and disaster relief sanitation
